The GAM by Matest is a precision device designed to validate and calibrate the internal angle of gyratory compactors. It simulates an HMA specimen, generating equivalent tilting moments and shear forces to reproduce real compaction conditions.

Suitable for angles required by EN 12697-31 and ASTM/AASHTO Standards, the GAM performs TOP and BOTTOM angle measurements, with the average considered as the “internal angle of the machine.” Data acquisition and processing are simplified through the included Excel spreadsheet, which calculates the internal angle, plots graphs, and provides indexes assessing measurement quality.

This device ensures accurate calibration for gyratory compactors used in asphalt mix research, quality control, and advanced laboratory testing.

The device is supplied complete with:

• Two different rings to perform tests either with M=240Nm or M=425Nm
• Upper and lower base plate
• RS232 cable
• Strong practical suitcase
• Calibration certificate

Data are read by GAM and then downloaded (via RS232 cable) all together at the end of the measurements, with no need to connect the device to the PC after each measurement.

Possibility to repeat even just one of the measurements, and lately include it in the calculation spreadsheet.
